"The Road Ahead" looks mighty black:
Thank God, at home, I've got a Mac™!

Well, OK, this was a comparison of Windows 95™ against Mac OS 7™, because the year was 1996. On Windows XP™ "Resource Faults" are pretty much a thing of the past, and the current versions of both systems (Windows XP™, Mac OSX 10.4™) are considerably more stable than the 1996 versions.

Nevertheless, I think a present-day comparison of Windows XP&trade vs Mac OSX 10.4&trade would cause an unbiased observer to reach basically the same conclusion - Macs have their problems, but are generally less troublesome and have a lower total cost of ownership when you look at life-cycle costs instead of just purchase price. This is especially true when you consider viruses and spyware.

Of course now that the new Intel™-based Macs are capable of natively booting Windows XP™ as well as OSX™, Apple™ has essentially joined the makers of PCs. We will see how that works out, but it means that you CAN run Windows™ programs natively on a Mac, assuming you are willing to buy (or already have legal rights to install) a copy of Windows XP™.

Bottom Line:
Buy a PC, get a PC. Buy a Mac, get a Mac and a PC.

It is very discouraging to see one's own poetry reproduced somewhere and labeled as "Author Unknown". Inevitably, that is what happens when people copy poems and redistribute them. Eventually the attribution to the author and the copyright notice is lost.

My only reward for writing this is the 15 milliseconds of fame I receive from having my name here. Don't deprive me of that.
